Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is one of the most-studied regenerative treatments in orthopedic medicine. It concentrates the platelets from your own blood — the cells that carry the growth factors your body uses to repair tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints — and delivers them directly to the site of injury.

In our office, PRP is drawn, spun in a medical-grade centrifuge, and injected under precise guidance so the growth factors land exactly where healing is needed. The concentration process is what makes it work: a normal blood clot has a modest dose of growth factors; a well-prepared PRP injection can deliver 5–10 times that dose into a single tendon or joint.

Because PRP uses only your own cells, there is no risk of allergic reaction, no drug interactions, and no long recovery. It is one of the most reliable ways to restart a stalled healing response in tissue that has plateaued.

Evidence & mechanism

Who is a good candidate

PRP is a strong fit for patients with a well-defined tissue problem — a specific painful tendon, ligament, or joint — that has not responded to rest, physical therapy, or medication. We are honest about who is not a good candidate: severe end-stage arthritis, active infection, and certain blood disorders are situations where we recommend a different path.
